This variety comes from Italy. Tramin is a small town in northern Italy and Gewurz means spice in Alsatian countries. Although this grape variety is grown all over the world, Gewurztraminer is a typical Alsatian variety. It is a pink grape with white, very sweet juice. The soil is made up of clay and limestone.
Vinification - The grapes are pressed for 7 hours on a pneumatic press. Fermentation takes place at low temperatures with natural yeasts. When archiving the wine, it is advisable to respect the following 3 rules: no light, no temperature changes and constant humidity. Gewurztraminer is usually served with an aperitif. However, it is also perfect with Asian foods or cheeses such as Munster, Roquefort ...
