Opaque dark purple color approaching black. A hint of purple is best captured when poured into a glass or on wine tears. When poured, you can see how thick the wine is. A rich fruity aroma from which the higher alcohol is apparent. The aroma is sweet to the point of being reminiscent of baked forest fruits or marmalade. Immediately after opening, when you take the first sip and scoop the wine into your mouth, you feel a slight effervescence. High sweet and surprisingly fine tannin for such a young wine, the medium acidity perfectly balanced with the residual sugar creates an immediately powerful impression of the wine. The palate is fruity, dominated by cherries and black cherries. The aftertaste shows tannin, faint bitterness playing beautifully with the residual sweetness. Pair it with a fatter and saltier cheese.

Like all Papari Valley wines, Semi Dry is fermented spontaneously, aged in a multi-level Kvevri terrace system, unfined, unfiltered and bottled after minimal sulphurisation. More black than purple in the glass. Roasted chestnuts, cassis, black cherry on the nose, minty freshness on the palate, bright animal notes, almost meaty. Strong tannic structure and high acidity are kept at bay by residual sweetness. Amazingly wild!
