Rojac

Rodina Rojac vyrábí tradiční a poctivé víno v přímořské oblasti Slovenská Istra již od 17. století. Současné vinařství založil zesnulý Bruno Rojac v roce 1994 na Istrii. Nyní je vede Brunův syn Uroš a pokračuje v kombinování tradičních a moderních postupů, a to jak ve vinařství, tak na vinicích.

The colour is a soft golden yellow. The aroma is ripe, full-bodied, honeyed, slightly floral, like Malvasia. In the mouth it is dry, medium-bodied, the taste a little rough, the texture tends to be oily. With a nice varietal aftertaste.

We want everyone to drink Malvasia. That's why we serve you this lively wine that is very fresh, juicy but with a complex balanced structure designed for easy drinking. It is made from organically grown grapes to which minimal sulphur has been added. Wondering how Malvasia's tannin levels can be low and sensitive to the use of available sulfur? The cold grape must is inoculated the day before to stimulate the start of cold fermentation and the wine is then kept unfiltered/cloudy until bottling - only then is coarse filtration applied and the wine kept fresh in the bottle by threading.

Rojac Farm produces only organic or bio wines from indigenous or traditional varieties, i.e. Refoska and Malvasia. The wines are natural - the guiding principle in their production is a lot of careful work in the vineyard, where top quality grapes are born, which are only brought to the modern cellar and leave the road, with minimal intervention or monitoring of development so that nature produces wines that can be served to the customer - as if a grape had been squeezed into a glass. This is why Rojac wines are unconventional, authentic, rich, structural and reflect the characteristics of the man, the land and the region from which they come. And so it is 400 years since the ancestors of the Rojac family settled in Gažon, a village in the hills that tower over Isola and Koper. It will be no coincidence that at that time in the Republic of Venice, red wine from these places, produced in the best vintages, was ruled by the renero and taxed three times more than other wines. In fact, it is said to be a wine with medicinal properties, which in Venice was reserved for patricians and Doges.
