The wine has a blackberry colour, the aroma is fruity, smoky with pepper. The taste is fruity and spicy, cherry, plum. Juicy, thin, the acidity is higher and as the wine is dry it is a bit dominant, the tannin is starting to ripen. The wine needs more time to sweeten, it feels harsh right after opening. It is much better the next day. The barrique is a bit too expressive for me. The wine is not complex.
Aromas of cherry, sour cherry, in combination with tannins it is like cherries in chocolate. The 2018 Franc comes from an exceptionally warm vintage for red wines. It was aged for 15 months in older barrigue barrels.
